SUNY Farmingdale State College, New York

Founded in 1912, Farmingdale State University's programs revolved around the technology of farming. As the school continued to develop over the years so too did the programs offered to students. By the 1930's and 40's the university began to widen its focus to the field of science and technology as well as maintaining an active program in agricultural sciences. Then by the 1950's the State University of New York stepped in and added Farmingdale to their list of facilities. Since this time, the University has undergone many changes, but still maintains its educational excellence and the feel of a traditional New England campus.
Situated in Farmingdale, New York, Farmingdale University stretches across some 380 acres of wooded land. Most of this is the beautiful horticulture teaching gardens. It is located in the heart of Long Island just minutes from Route 110. This allows for easy acces to Manhattan (a mere 40 minutes away), and points downtown in New York City. It is also just a quick jaunt over to the beach should you need a relaxing break from studies.

They also are the only school in Long Island to offer comprehensive programs in Applied Sciences and Technology.
